Mystery Over Postbox In River

Until now Sonning-on-Thames, Berkshire, was best known as the home of celebrity mind-bender Uri Geller.

But now something even more mysterious has turned up in the town.

The red postbox has appeared on a buttress of a bridge, inaccessible by land.

Nobody knows how the object got there, although Mr Geller speculated to the BBC that it may have been left by a ghost.

Unfortunately, the Royal Mail has revealed that the box is “not an operational posting facility”, which means that the famous river inhabitants Ratty, Mole and friends will need to continue to use alternative locations within the town.
